London Sights, Sounds and Hotels

Westminster Abbey is an ancient building in London that represents much of England's history with royal heads having been crowned here ever since William the Conqueror rode his horse up the aisle of Edward the Confessors' church, which then stood on the site. It is also the site of nearly every royal burial in the 500 years between the reigns of Henry 111 and George 11. The nave and cloisters are open daily from 8am-6pm with free admission, but to see the royal tombs or Poets' Corner there is an admission charge. Admission charges to this venerable place of worship are not new as Charles Lamb complained about them as far back as 1823. It must be noted though that admission to services is free.

London's Westminster Abbey is one of so many places to visit in the city that it would be best to visit and soak up the experience. Select your favourite out of some of the first class London hotels, check out some the finer London restaurants and catch that plane.
